Mission

Seastemik is dedicated to a living Ocean through a systemic revolution in our food system. We work to end unsustainable aquaculture practices, particularly intensive salmon farming.

Values

We understand that how we work is just as crucial as the issues we address. We are committed to embodying our values and continually improving our governance and management practices by cultivating a culture of continuous learning and reflection.

Food and Climate Justice

We believe that access to healthy and tasty food must be guaranteed to all. It is urgent to work toward eliminating food inequalities and strengthening community resilience. We support the shift towards plant-based diets to move towards equitable resource sharing and sustainable, planet- and life-friendly production methods.

Ethics

We believe that all living beings, both human and non-human, should be treated without discrimination and have their basic needs respected.

Integrity

Our actions are guided by intellectual honesty, transparency, and accountability. We take responsibility for both our actions and inactions. We act independently to maintain full freedom of action and expression.

Effectiveness

Effectiveness is at the core of our strategy to achieve strong, transformative change. This effectiveness is driven by the latest scientific research. We are mindful to adapt our efforts according to the physical and moral capacities of Seastemik’s teams.

Seastemik is a collective of optimists concerned about the state of the Ocean; sharing the belief that a transition to a fair, life-respecting food system is possible! The journey has just begun, and we are looking for volunteers, experts, and partners.
